Bertram Edward Sackett, a locomotive foreman with the East Indian Railway, son of Lyman Belcher Sackett and Caroline Lydia Aldridge, was born in IndiaG in about April 1884.1,2 He died aged 61 in Aragram, Madras, IndiaG, on 19 June 19453,4,5 and was buried at All Saints, Bangalore, MadrasG, on 19 June 1945.6 He married at Allahabad, Bengal, IndiaG, on 26 January 1910, Maisie Millicent Mary Wordsworth, daughter of Walter Edward Paschand Wordsworth.7,8 Maisie was born in about 1889.9
     Bertram served in the East Indian Railway Volunteer Rifles during the First World War. He was awarded the Volunteer Forces Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on 7 June 1915.10
