William Sackett, son of Reuben Sackett Jr and Elizabeth ___, was born probably in Ontario County, New York StateG, in about 1815.1 He died in Merrick County, NebraskaG.1 He married in St Clair County, IllinoisG, on 30 August 1838, Elizabeth Talbot.1
In 1850 William was living in Warren County, IllinoisG, and was recorded in the census as William Sacket, a carpenter, aged 36 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 31, and their children, Nancy, 11, Francis, 6, Sarah, 4, and Mary, aged one.2
In 1860 William was living at Roscoe, Goodhue County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a farmer, age 44. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 42, and their children, Francis, 16, Ellen, 13, Mary, 11, and Florence, aged six months.3
In 1870 he was living in Bushnell, McDonough County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a carpenter, aged 56. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 53, and their children, Francis, 26, Florence, 10, Reuben, 9, and Charles, aged eight.4
In 1880 he was living in Clarksville, Merrick County, NebraskaG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 65. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 61, and their son Charles, aged 17.5
