Robert Ara Sackett, son of Robert Nathaniel Sackett and Anetta Eva "Nettie" Hopkins, was born in Stewartville, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, on 25 March 1883. He died aged 86 in Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, on 4 July 1969. He married in MinnesotaG in 1909, Gertrude Dobson. Gertrude was born in EnglandG on 26 May 1886.1 She died aged 83 in Olmsted CountyG on 15 February 1970.2
In 1900 Robert was living at Pleasant Grove, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, in the household of his parents Robert and Nettie, and was recorded in the census as Robert A Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 17 and born in Minnesota.3
In 1910 he was living at Pleasant Grove, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded as R Ara Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 27. His wife Gertrude, 23, was living with him.4
Robert completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 35 and was living at StewartvilleG with his wife Gertrude. He was a self-employed farmer.5
In 1920 he was living at Pleasant GroveG and was recorded as A Robert Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 36. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Gertrude, 33, and their children, Cyril, 9, and Lois, aged six.6
In 1930 he was living at Pleasant GroveG and was recorded as Ara R Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 47. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Gertrude, 44, and their children, Cyril, 19, and Lois, aged 16.7
