Edith Grace Sackett, daughter of John Sackett and Emily Alice Brill, was born at Mile End, MiddlesexG, on 30 September 1900.1,2,3 She died aged 91 in Uckfield, SussexG, in January 1992.4 She married in UckfieldG, in 1971, Raymond O Freeman.5
     In 1901 Edith was living at 11 Woodland Terrace, GreenwichG, and was recorded in the census as Edith G Sackett, aged six months and born in Mile End. She was living with her parents John and Emily in the household of Emily's parents John and Mary Brill.6
     In 1911 Edith was living at 37 Maryon Road, Charlton, LondonG, in the household of her parents John and Emily, and was recorded in the census as Edith Grace Sackett, aged ten and born in Mile End.7
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Edith was a civil service shorthand typist, living at 37 Maryon Road, Greenwich, LondonG with her widowed mother Emily and sister Dorothy.8
