Diantha H Sackett, daughter of Charles Sackett and Eliza Ann DeGraw, was born in MichiganG in about 1838.1,2 She married in about 1859, Henry Neuman.3 He died before 1899.
In 1850 Diantha was living in Redford, MichiganG, in the household of her parents Charles and Eliza, and was recorded in the census as Diantha Sackett, aged twelve and born in Michigan.4
In 1860 she was living in Livonia, Wayne County, MichiganG, in the household of her husband Henry, 29, a farmer, and was recorded as Diantha H Newman, aged 22.5
In 1870 she was living in Detroit, MichiganG, in the household of her husband Henry, 35, a laborer, and was recorded as Diantha Newman, aged 25. Living with them were their sons, Frank, 9, and Ernest, aged seven.6
In 1880 she was living at Grand River Avenue, DetroitG, in the household of her husband Henry, 49, a wood cutter, and was recorded as Dianta Newman, aged 35. Living with them were their sons, Frank, 19, and Ernest, aged 17.7
Diantha was listed in the Detroit City Directory of 1899. She was a widow living with her son Ernest at Infantry Avenue, Detroit, MichiganG.8
