William H Sackett, contractor, son of Elijah Sackett and Olive Antoinette "Nett" Dunham, was born in West Springfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 25 September 1850.1 He died aged 59 at home at 834 Worthington Street, SpringfieldG, on 19 June 19102 and was buried at Springfield CemeteryG.3 He married first in SpringfieldG on 23 November 1875, Leonora Isabella Illsley.4 Leonora was born in Chelsea, Suffolk County, MassachusettsG, on 20 August 1855.4 She died aged 32 in SpringfieldG on 18 May 18884 and was buried at Springfield CemeteryG.3 He married second in SpringfieldG on 18 December 1889, Elizabeth A Carrier, daughter of Oliver Carrier and Hannah B ___.5 Elizabeth was born in Easthampton, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG, on 15 August 1847.6 She died aged 82 on 24 February 1930 and was buried at Springfield CemeteryG.3
In 1870 William was living in SpringfieldG in the household of his parents Elijah and Olive, and was recorded in the census as William H Sackett, a landscape gardening worker, aged 19 and born in Massachusetts.7
In 1880 he was living in SpringfieldG in the household of his parents Elijah and Olive, and was recorded as William H Sackett, a contractor, aged 29. His wife Leonora and their children, Clara Bell, 2 and George, aged one, were living with him.8
In 1900 William was living at Worthington Street, SpringfieldG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a contractor excavations, head of household, aged 49. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his second wife, Elizabeth, 52, and his children by his first marriage, Clara, 22, and George, aged 21.9
In 1910 he was living at Worthington Street, SpringfieldG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a jobbing contractor, head of household, aged 59. He owned his home. His wife Elizabeth, 61, was living with him. Also in the household were William's daughter Clara, 31, and her husband William Johnson, 33.10
