Melissa O Sackett, daughter of Noah Sacket and Olive Nelson, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in August 1843.2 She died on 1 February 1919 and was buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG. She married in WestfieldG on 17 January 1877, John Lewis Smith, son of Louis Smith and Lydia ___.3 John was born in Southwick, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 14 November 1841.4
     In 1870 Melissa was living at Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in the household of her parents Noah and Olive, and was recorded in the census as Malissa Sackett, aged 27, of no occupation, and born in Massachusetts.5
