Electa Sackett

Electa Sackett, daughter of Aaron Sacket and Phebe Hart, was born in Vermont^G on 28 September 1802.^1,2 She died aged 62 on 19 February 1865 and was buried at Riceville Cemetery, West Valley, Cattaraugus County, New York State^G.³ She married in about 1822, Frederick Hammond.⁴ Frederick was born in Vermont^G in 1800.^2,3 He died aged about 67 on 21 August 1867 and was buried at Riceville Cemetery, West Valley^G.³
     In 1850 Electa was living in Deerfield, Warren County, Pennsylvania^G, in the household of her husband Frederick, 51, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Electa Hammond, aged 47 and born in Vermont. Living with them were their children, Franklin, 11, Sarah, 10, and Uretta, aged three. Also in the household were Frederick and Electa's daughter Charlotte, 28, with her husband Reuben Cady, 34, and their children, Calista, 10, Hubert, 8, and Scott, aged three.⁵
     In 1860 she was living in Ashford, Cattaraugus County, New York State^G, in the household of her husband Frederick, 61, a farmer, and was recorded as Electa Hammond, aged 56 and born in Connecticut. Living with them were their daughter Uretta, 13, and Kate Russel, aged five.⁶
