Walter L Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Elizabeth J "Lizzie" Labue, was born in New JerseyG on 2 November 1901. He died aged 64 in Cook County, IllinoisG, on 30 August 19661 and was buried at Mumford Rural Cemetery, Mumford, Monroe County, New York StateG.2 He married first in about 1927, Marguerite ___.3 Marguerite was born in New York StateG in about 1901.3 He married second in Cook County, IllinoisG, on 10 January 1949, Mary M Sperber.4
     In 1910 Walter was living at Wheatland Center Road, Wheatland, Monroe County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Edward and Lizzie, and was recorded in the census as Walter B? Sackett, aged nine and born in New Jersey.5
     In 1920 he was living at State Street, Caledonia, Livingston County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Edward and Lizzie, and was recorded as Walter L Sackett, aged 19 and born in New Jersey.6
     In 1930 he was living at the Belland Apartment Hotel, Cleveland Avenue, Chicago, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Walter L Sackett, a stenographer, head of household, aged 28. Living with him were his wife Marguerite, 27, and their son, Walter L Jr, aged one year eleven months.7
     Walter enlisted in the US Army in Chicago, IllinoisG, on 29 September 1942 and served in the 28th Infantry Division in the Second World War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.8
