Porter Dwight Ford, son of Simeon Dwight Ford and Malinda Tanner Sackett, was born in ConnecticutG on 8 October 1854.1,2 He died aged about 66 in New York CityG in 1921 and was buried at Washington Cemetery on the Green, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG.3 He married on 2 July 1883, Lois Carrie Ford, daughter of Seth Porter Ford and Caroline Mansfield Jackson.1 Lois was born in Honolulu, HawaiiG, in July 1859.4
In 1860 Porter was living in Washington, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Simeon and Malinda, and was recorded in the census as Porter Ford, aged five and born in Connecticut.5
In 1870 he was living in Washington, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Simeon and Malinda, and was recorded as Porter D Ford, aged 15.6
Porter is presumed to have attended a reunion of some thirty Sackett relations at his parents' home in Washington, ConnecticutG, on 13 August 1873.

6651. Porter Dwight Ford, 1854–, of Richmond Hill, Queens County, N. Y., son of Simeon D. and (3812) Malinda Tanner Sackett Ford, was married, July 2, 1883, to Lois Carrie Ford. Porter D. Ford was graduated from Sheffield Scientific School of Yale College in 1876, and for three years following gave his attention to teaching and surveying. In 1879 he became assistant engineer and supervisor on New York Division of Pennsylvania Railroad, which position he filled until 1888, when he became a division engineer of Philadelphia and Reading Railroad. In 1889 he was tendered and accepted the position of General Roadmaster of Long Island Railroad, of which in the following year he became General Superintendent of Roadway, and in 1891 Chief Engineer.
