Justus Sackett Comstock, son of Henry James Comstock and Emily Sibyl Sackett, was born in Warren, ConnecticutG, on 11 February 1850.1,2 He married in WarrenG on 11 December 1872, Phebe Rebecca Sturtevant.1,3 Justus was a merchant at Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut.2
In 1850 Justus was living in Cornwall, Litchfield CountyG, in the household of his parents James and Emily, and was recorded in the census as Justus Comstock, aged six months and born in Connecticut.4
In 1860 he was living in WarrenG in the household of his parents Henry and Emily, and was recorded as Justus Comstock, aged ten.5
In 1880 he was living in WarrenG and was recorded as Justus S Comstock, a farmer, aged 30. Living with him were his wife Phebe, 28, their children, Henry, 6, and Ella, and Phebe's mother Laura Sturtevant, 68.6
