Ezekiel Sackett, son of John Sackett and Prudence Atherton, was born in Albany County, New York StateG, on 22 November 1786.3 He died aged 70 in Redford, Wayne County, MichiganG, on 28 October 1857 and was buried at Bell Branch Cemetery, RedfordG. He married in 1809, Elizabeth Woodward.
     Ezekiel was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in Redford, Wayne County, MichiganG.4
     In 1850 Ezekiel was living at Livonia, Wayne County, MichiganG, and was recorded in the census as Ezekiel Sackett, a farmer, aged 64, and born in New York State. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, aged 56 and also born in New York, their unmarried daughter Hannah (27), and their daughter Elizabeth (20) with her husband Jonathan Wright and their eight-month-old daughter Sarah Ann.5

Feb. 8, 1821 in New York State; came to Redford, Wayne Co., Mich. with his parents; married April 3, 1839 at Redford, by Alvah Stockwell, J.P. to Diantha Hutchinson, dau. of Abram & Alymyra Hutchinson; born 1823. Mr. Sackett served as Wayne County Auditor for many years. He died Dec. 28, 1868 at the age of 47 years; his widow, July 12, 1891 and both are buried in the Bell Branch Cemetery, Redford. Their children were:-
    (1) Caroline Sackett, Almyra. July 1, 1841, Redford; d. Jan. 8, 1917 (Bell Branch Cem.) She never married.
    (2) Maria M. Sackett, b. Aug. 13, 1842, Redford; d. May 20. 1914, Willow Mich.; m. Dec. 25, 1864, Redford, by Rev. Thomas Shaftoe, to Avery Jehiel Chillson, son of Benjamin & Harriet (Bryan) Chillson, b. Dec. 27, 1839 in Livonia township; d. Feb. 27, 1925, Wayne, Mich. They are buried in Livonia Center Cemetery. He changed the spelling of his name to Chilson. Mr. & Mrs. Chilson always resided in Wayne Co. with the exception of a few years spent in Livingston Co. They resided about 5 miles west of Brighton, community today bearing the name of Chilson.
