John Sackett, son of Thomas Sackett and Susannah Solley, was born in Ash next Sandwich, KentG, in 1816 and baptized at St Nicholas, Ash next SandwichG, on 8 September 1816.1
     In 1841 John was living at 24 Zion Place, Margate, KentG, in the household of his brother Robert, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, a butcher, aged 20+ and born in Kent.2
