Jacob Seymour Sackett, son of George Seymour Sackett and Rachel Hetsler, was born in MichiganG on 3 March 1847.1,2 He died aged 17 at the Hospital at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, on 16 June 1864.1,3
     In 1850 Jacob was living in Clinton, Macomb County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents George and Rachel, and was recorded in the census as Jacob Sackett, aged three and born in Michigan.4
     Jacob served in the American Civil War as a private in Company H, 22nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He died in the service, of chronic diarrhoea.3
