Alexander Sackett, son of Samuel Sackett and Priscilla Caldwell, was born in Fayette County, PennsylvaniaG, in 1835.1
     In 1850 Alexander was living in Nicholson, Fayette County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Samuel and Priscilla, and was recorded in the census as Alexander Sackett, a farmer, aged 17 and born in Pennsylvania.2
     In 1860 he was living in NicholsonG in the household of his widowed mother Priscilla, and was recorded as Alexander Hackett [sic], an engineer, aged 24.3
