Erastus Tanner Sackett, farmer, son of Deacon Harvey Sackett and Thalia Eldred, was born in Tallmadge, OhioG, on 10 March 1821.1,2,3 He died aged 89 in Ruggles Township, Ashland County, OhioG, on 18 December 19104 and was buried there on 21 December 1910.4 He married at Ruggles TownshipG on 2 December 1847, Lucretia Lurania Lyons, daughter of Nathaniel Lyons and Hannah Johnson.1,3 Lucretia was born in Lebanon, Madison County, New York StateG, on 18 November 1825.3
In 1860 Erastus was living in Ruggles, Ashland County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as E T Sacket, a farmer, aged 39 and born in Ohio. His farm was next door but one to his brother Erasmus. Living with him were his wife Lucretia, 34, and their children, James, 8, Myron, 4, and Harmon, aged one. Also in the household was a male farm laborer, Lucas Lyon, perhaps related to Lucretia.5
