Ernest Edwin Sackett, son of Ernest Sackett and Lessie C Gammon, was born in Sittingbourne, KentG, on 10 March 1915.1,2,3 He died aged about 81 in Thanet, KentG, in March 1996.4 He married in Eastry, KentG, in 1940, Ivy M Dixon.5,6
     In 1921 Ernest was living at Denstroude, Blean, KentG, in the household of his parents Ernest and Lessie, and was recorded in the census as Ernest Edwin Sackett, aged six and born in Sittingbourne.7
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Ernest was a lorry driver, living at Paramour Street, EastryG, with his father Ernest.8
