Joseph Sackett, son of Henry Sackett and Annie Kelly, was born in St Olave Southwark, LondonG, on 18 May 1901.1,2 His birth was registered in the name of Jeremiah Sackett; all subsequent records are of Joseph. He died aged 55 in Camberwell, LondonG, in 1957.3 He married at St Olave Bermondsey, LondonG, in 1921, Margaret Maud Langley, daughter of ___ Langley and ___ Callow.4,5 Margaret was born in St Olave BermondseyG on 28 February 19016,2 and died aged 94 in Southwark, LondonG, in June 1995.7
     In 1911 Joseph was living at 40 Janeway Street, BermondseyG, in the household of his parents Henry and Annie, and was recorded in the census as Joseph Sackett, a schoolboy, aged nine and born in Bermondsey.8
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Joseph and Margaret were living at 5 Lewes House, Peckham Park Road, Camberwell, LondonG. Joseph was a dock porter, and Margaret a wood machinist. Their daughter Annie was living with them.9
