Clara Sacket, daughter of Filer Sacket and Deborah Waterman, was born in Ferrisburg, Addison County, VermontG, on 28 August 1799.1,2,3,4,5,6 She died aged 83 in Watson, Allegan County, MichiganG, on 16 June 1883.1,7 She married at Chautauqua, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 13 September 1821, Alpheus Alvord, son of Caleb Alvord and Mary Murdock.1,8 Alpheus was born in Greenfield, MassachusettsG, on 17 January 1787.8 He died in Austinburg, OhioG.8
In 1850 Clara was living at Farmington, Trumbull County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Clara Alvord, aged 51, and born in Vermont, in the household of Alpheus Alvord. Also recorded in the household were [their children] Elijah (20), Maria (15), Harriet (12), Allen (10), and Amelia (7.)3
In 1860 she was living at Welshfield, Troy, Geauga County, OhioG, and was recorded as Clara Alvord, aged 60, and born in Vermont, living with Alpheus in the household of [their son-in-law] Almond Hodges.4
In 1870 she was living at Saybrook, Geneva, Ashtabula County, OhioG, and was recorded as Clara Alvord, aged 70, born in Vermont, and living with Alpheus in the household of [their son-in-law] Almon Hodges.5
In 1880 she was living at Austinburg, Ashtabula County, OhioG, in the household of her son-in-law Almond G Hodges, and was recorded as Clarry Alvord, a teacher, aged 80 and born in Vermont.6
