Elisha Shepard Sackett, tinsmith of West Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa, son of John Sackett and Eunice Leffingwell, was born in MassachusettsG in about 1815.2,3 He married at Austinburg, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 1 January 1842, Maranda Hall.4 She was born in about 1824. She died in 1853.
     In 1880 Elisha was living at West Decorah, Winneshiek County, IowaG, and was recorded in the census as Elisha Sacket, head of household, a widower, aged 65, and born in Massachusetts. His occupation was given as 'tinner.2'
