Leonard is researching Joseph SACKETT (son of Joseph & Comfort Sackett) who was born about 1775, lived in Addison Co., Vermont in about 1790-1810, married and had at least 7 children by first wife. In the mid to later 1820's they lived in (Elba) Genessee Co., New York. Later Joseph married Lucy RICE, widow of Talcott ALLEN, and they had probably 3 children. In the 1840's Joseph & Lucy Sackett moved to Jackson Co., Michigan, also may have lived in Washtenaw Co., Michigan and she died in Ravenna, Muskegon Co. Joseph and his first wife had sons, Amos, CLARK and Joseph, Jr. Joseph, Amos & CLARK all lived in Jackson, Hillsdale and Washtenaw & Monroe Co. Other possible children of Joseph and his first wife are Hiram, Elizabeth, Susannah, Roxanna, and Samuel. Researching Joseph’s son CLARK SACKETT (my line). CLARK married FANNY FERSTER/FIRSTER about 1837, moved from Washington Co., New York to London Twp., Monroe Co., Michigan and homesteaded 80 acres of land on October 20, 1835. CLARK and FANNY had one son, ARDEN. CLARK died within two years and FANNY FERSTER became the second wife of John Bunce. FANNY FERSTER died after giving birth to ARDEN’s half siblings Laura, James, Hannah, and Fanny. ARDEN at the age of 7 yrs was raised to adulthood by John Bunce and his 3rd wife Dorcus Carpenter. DNA testing to date (Feb 2005) does tie my line back to Joseph & Comfort Sackett. |
