Obituary
Elinor M. Sackett, age 89 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
Elinor M. Rees was born Nov. 13, 1927 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of the late Louis and Norma (Haire) Rees. She grew up and attended school there. She attended the University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus for a time. Elinor was united in marriage to Harley Sackett on December 20, 1947 in Owatonna, MN. The couple lived on the family farm near West Concord for a time. In 1960 they moved to Minatare, NE where they farmed until 1970 when they moved to Grafton, ND. Elinor worked at the Unity Hospital in Grafton as a CNA and in the housekeeping department until her retirement. Harley passed away March 12, 2006 and in 2014 Elinor moved to the Leisure Estates in Grafton.
She was a member of the Grafton Federated Church and was very active with the Federated Women's Group.
Elinor is survived by her children: Daniel (Sylvia) Sackett, Tehachapi, CA; Donald (Leanna) Sackett, Lincoln, NE; Michael (Sandra) Sackett, Grafton, ND and Patricia (Terry) Pilon, Grafton, ND; 15 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, her sister Eunice (Curt) Nelson, Deerwood, MN and sister-in-law, Delores Sackett, Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Grafton Federated Church. Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Leisure Estates at the Lutheran Sunset Home or the Grafton Federated Church.
